Well judging by your very descriptive post I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you drive a 1988 dx that you did a mpfi swap on. Replace your distbributor that should fix it.

Seriously, you need to at least give some basic info.

im curious why u think your resistor box was no good and what you mean when you say you ran your fuel pump with a bridged cable?

sounds like your car was getting starved of fuel

the white smoke sounds like a blown HG, which might have happened when you were running super lean

do a leakdown test

my resistor box was no good because i changed the main relay and after that the fuel pump was not getting any power . so yesterday after i replaced the good resistor box i turned off my car and it stay on why ? because i had the the extra wire hooked up too the 2 Yellow/black cable so that the fuel pump would work. So i took off the extra wire i added on there and the car started up good without the wire a added. but after 20 min driving car starting shaking. So the only way my car would run good is with the old resistor box and with the bridged wire i had on there. the White smoke happend to me long time ago but went away now it came back again but lot of smoke ...
