I am showing the engine light. the code is P0341, Camshaft Position Sensor; Bank 1 ckt range/perf.

Is this just a 10 dollar piece i buy and replace? I all ready know where it is, and I'm assuming that bank1 is the one closest to the front of the car (intake cam). Is it just a bad sensor or is it telling me something is wrong woth my cam positioning? how do i approach this specific sensor problem? What exactly does this sensor do for the car? Just for my knowledge. thanx guys

A check engine code is just the car telling you what it THINKS is wrong with itself. It could be something else that makes the car think the cam sensor is bad. Do some research and homework. If you don't know what a camshaft position sensor does, read up on it. We can't diagnose your car from X,000 miles away. I also guarantee it isn't a $10 part. Sorry if this is blunt but you should do some searching and reading.

 

I have tried searching. This is how I cam about this thread. I am having a hard time finding more information on this problem. If you know of any info or can lead me in the right direction as to where to find it please do.

this coule be 2 different problems. either the sensor in question itself is bad. which of course is an easy fix. OR , lol. your timing is now off due to your tensioner failing slowly and timing chain stretching. what i recommend for you , is to take the 3 10mm bolts holding the inspection cover on that hides the tensioner , and inspect to see how far out the piston is.

thats your first step right now.
