is this normal?

i also had the same problem with my 91 Si hatch with the b16a1 swap i was told it could be my ground and i purchased the aem full ground kit (cheap and readily available) and that fixed my problem but i would check the fuses like the guy above me said first thats a little cheaper fix than mine if thats what your problem is also when i was driving and hit 3rd. gear vtec the headlights would compleatly shut off and i had to turn them off and back on.... hope this helps

yes there is also a fuse panel under the hood near the passenger side shock. inside of this panel is the ELD (electric load detector), its function is to bump up/ adjust your idle to account for increased load (AC/accesories /lights).

either the ELD is bad or the alternator.

I hear that in order to replace the ELD you need to replace the fuse panel, its built in or something.

Damn why does somebody always refute the existance of this thing
Your right that EF's (jdm) dont have ELD's, but all ED's do (Usdm)
The manual lists the ELD as usa only
