Default SMOKED HEADLIGHTS! Have YOU joined the Dark Side today?? ;)

So I had my headlights smoked a couple days ago to match the taillights and the rest of the car. Came out much better than I expected.

Let me know what you guys think.

Here's a pic of my taillights.

And here's some night pics for you doubtfuls regarding nighttime illumination. It reduces light output only by an extremely small amount.

By the way....this is not Lamin-X film. It is a headlamp protection film I purchased from a local company here in San Antonio. It's about as thick as Lamin-X (30ml) and the fitment is very nice. The kits are precut to the shape of the headlight just like the Lamin-X. The cost is a little more pricey than Lamin-X though.

Here's the link to the company.

Doesn't look bad. It doesn't stand out as much as it would on a car that wasn't black. IMO being on black makes it look better (not like the old AVS headlight covers that were on every mustang for years)

Good job RICO_ you get a cookie! A super mario cookie at that

EXACTLY what I was shooting for. Stealthy type of look. I don't really want my car to stick out like a sore thumb. That's also the reason why I removed the "i-VTEC DOHC decals on the sides and all the badging on the back (minus the "H" symbol).

Now all I have left to take care of are the wheels.

Sweetness!!

Thanx!

That looks good. I wonder if having the HID retro would be an issue? Think the lights would get to hot for the film?

Thank for the link.

Nah. HIDs run cooler than Halogen bulbs. They consume less power and therefore emit less heat during operation. The bulb may be considerably brighter....but that's because it uses a different method to produce the light output....enabling it to be much more efficient.

4300K, 6000K, 8000K, etc. are all just ratings of color temperature which denotes the color of the light output as well as the brightness.

Looks very good, I only tend to like those on black cars. Completely blacked out cars are very sexy. Black car + black wheels + dark tint + tinted lights = win.

Front plate was a gift to me. So I figured I'd leave it on for a while out of respect to that person.

You could always turn on your auxiliary/fog lights to make up for the tiny reduction in visibility.

Speaking of that......

For you people that have the problem with your fog lights breaking from rock hits.....this is the perfect material to get.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Xpel's website &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

our covers have proven that they will withstand a barrage of 1" diameter stones (about 1oz.) at speeds up to 120 m.p.h. with no damage to the lens they protect. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Just something to consider. I'm not a salesman for this company or anything.....just trying to help out in any way I can since I know alot of people had this issue with their fog lights.

They make this material in blue, smoke, yellow, and clear. All the same thickness of 30ml.

The Mario cookie goes well with your super low res pictures.
The smoked heads and tails look pretty good though. I think it would look sweet if you painted your Honda H's black.

I knew someone would bring that up sooner or later.

The pictures were taken with a cell phone camera. Not the best pics i know, but I really didn't see any justification to purchase an expensive digital camera as it would just simply collect dust most of the time.
