I just recently purchased a b18b longblock to replace my b20 vtec that was in my hatch. The b18b is missing the upper part of the piece that the mount bolts into...I know this is sort of unclear, so I will give an illustration.

I need part #8 on this diagram.
My question is, can I use a side mount like that, but off of either a b16/d series? The reason I ask is because my buddy has some brand new Hasport mounts that are for either the b16/d series into a 1992-1995 Civic. As most are aware the difference in the b18 and the b16/d-series is that the mount for the b18 has 3 posts, and the mount for the b16/d-series has 2 posts, which is why I am wondering if I can just use that bracket piece off of either a b16/d-series...basically will it bolt to my b18 block?
Please ask questions if I am not making my question clear!

The b18b has only 2 studs.

The b18c has 3 studs.

Get the part from a b16 and youll be fine.

 

i thought all b series has three studs. i've own a b16 and ls and now a gsr. all the mount brackets should have three holes so u can mount it onto the mount.

 

my b16 has only two studs...just switch that bracket out for a b16 then...

 

b16 will not fit on a b18. I have two of these blocks in my gargage and they both use three bolts to bolt into the block. you can use a GSR or LS from even a b18a to mount to your block.

i don't have a picture of it but that's what i know
