Default 1987 honda civic SI help

Ok so i bought a 1987 Honda Civic SI, its in pretty good condition

Only problem is, it wont start. 1 it needs a new battery i know that. But we hooked it up with jumpers and it turns over but it wont start, we thought the timing had slipped and turns out we take off the timing cover and the bolt and see teh woodruff key just totally broken off and about 90 degrees from where it should be, now im told that this means my camshaft broke? but im not totally sure, we also took the cover off and 3 valves were bent. What else COULD possibly be damaged if anything at all, and also where could i find a new head. I live in Colorado btw.

I guess you could have possibly scored your cyl walls, or ruined some pistons. Really a good inspection with the head off should tell you.

Your best bet at finding a head for a decent price is to go over to http://www.redpepperracing.com and look in the classifieds. You should be able to use a head from any Si civic or CRX from 85-87. If you cant find someone selling one, post up in the WTB section. ppl there are usually very willing to help a fellow 1G/3G owner out.

Oh, and BTW, NICE car! Looks like its in very nice shape with only minimal rust.
You should check out the undercarriage of the car though. Main rust points on these cars are: Panhard bar mount, front floor boards, and jack points.

No rust on under carriage either, we looked at all that before i even bought the car. I only ended up paying 300$ for this baby too XD. Thanks for the link, just hoping i can get this running soon

If you dont have any luck finding a Cyl head, another option would be to find a junker 86-89 Acura Integra. the whole 1.6L DOHC drivetrain is a pretty simple swap (especially 86-87), and youo can swap over the larger front brakes and rear discs as well.
