Default 205/45/16 Tires too small??? Anybody running them?

I know the stock tire size is 205/55/16.

I have a chance to pick up some 16" Rotas in mint condition with 205/45/16 tires for $500.

I checked out the miatanet tire calculator and it says the 205/45's with have 56 more revolutions per mile than the stock size tires.

Will the 45's be too small? Is anybody running them?

What car?? When I got my volks they had that sized tire and they were way smaller than the stock RSX wheels.

Yeah, a size change that drastic will screw with the speedo quite a bit.

Personally, I think that tire is way too small for an RSX. It'll work, but it'll look a bit odd and you'll have to do speed conversions in your head.

It's a ~1.7" difference in diameter. That's significant.

I run 205/40/16's on my ep and have no problems. I probably wouldn't run 40's on an RSX though, its a little bigger looking than the Ep.

Define "No problems".

That tire is also too small for the car. And, it could be a safety issue. What's the load rating on that specific tire?

I guarantee that if you call tirerack and tell them you have an EP3 and want a 205/40/16, they'll refuse to sell it to you.
