add hp to 08 civic si?
I'm getting an 08 si and I'm a little low on cash from buying the car.
I was wondering what would be good to add up a little more hp
without having to dig too deep into my pockets.
I'm going to add an amp and a base just for now, but
I'm thinking of spending around 300$ to 500$ for the engine.
I know the k20 is a pretty easy engine to boost up. So what would be good?
Thanks!

DC Race header or the usual intakes?

The first couple mods to start with are an intake (cold air preferably, just watch out for big puddles!!!) then exhaust; in that order.
This will basically let the car breath and give you around 10-15 added horses combined. They sell "hydroshields" which are basically just fancy socks that you put over the intake to REDUCE the chance of water being sucked into it and, thus, f-ing your s up.

Intake, exhaust, TB spacer, race header, tires, suspension, reflash, brake pads in that order.

Ok, if you really want to add some HP, than add 2 additional squirrels under the hood. This is a little tricky because you will need to lash all the squirrels together so they run on the wheel together. You might need to increase the size of your radiator so they have enough water to drink.
Honestly, the lists provided above are the standard starters. Intake, Exhaust, maybe an IM Gasket. Depending on what you go with, these will run you about $800.00. After that most people do a header, and Hondata and/or suspension. If you still want more you are looking at boost. Brakes should be your last upgrade since the stock brakes are pretty damn good to begin with.
Good luck

If you're really serious about adding HP to your ride.....then DITCH THE SUB AND AMP INSTALL.
Sacrifice man.
A good amp and sub install with necessary wiring and the sub box will run you at least 200-300 bucks....maybe just for parts alone if you get something halfway decent.
Your choice bro!

Exactly, I could not have said it any better myself. Not only are you spending $$$ with no gain in hp, you are adding weight. so you do the math. stock sound isnt that bad, plus i think its dumb when all these cars have nothing but bass and rattle the cars next to them and have no power to move thier 16 12" subs. i dont know, just my .02

Stock spark plugs are NGK Iridium plugs. Doesn't get much better than that.
