I remember my first trackday - hardly slept at all. If you autocross, be forewarned that once you get out on the big track, it's very hard to ever go back.

They didn't require anything other than a functional car and a helmet.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by gripunitEK9 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Keep going! It only gets better. See you out there. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Seemed Like you were flying around the Track when i saw you out there. What class were you in?

Also I was sliding out of my seat in turn 6, which I think the call the carosel. Any thing i can do to limit me falling out of the seat?

Here's the problem, my butt was staying in the seat mostly, it was my upper body that was sliding.

Was your shoulder strap not locking at all? Heck I know the ones in my Fit are so damn sensitive if I pull the belt out too quickly it will lock up. lol I hate that!

For auto x you could get away with putting a harness in on the stock seat. But you can't do that for an HPDE.

How did you like the Hyperdrive?

I was in Group4 on Saturday, then tested for my Comp License on Sunday morning and did the Sunday qualifying followed by the GroupA race on Sunday afternoon.

I had the damn loud Red EG Civic with the black and white graphics on it.

If you had a lot of fun, start off in Group 1, then move your way up, groups 1-2 are still fairly slow and are great for learning the line and you have some good instruction. Move up to Group 3 after a while, and if you're getting serious either buy a dedicated track car, or a have a car that you can drive to an from the track with a decent amount of safety gear.

I noticed some people had like trailers full of gear for what looked like a car that was fairly stock. Is there something I don't know about?

Yeah your car gets destroyed lol. When doing these kind of events you have to expect things are going to break let alone the tires and pads you go thru like crazy. Would NOT recommend racing your daily driver lol.

Im just getting into it myself kind of converting my drag car down more into something for the road course.

Just in case something breaks on the track. Some of the people are competing in TT(Time Trials), and have specific settings/parts/who knows that wouldn't be all that good for running on the street.

Right. Ok if I wanted to start, and I didnt have the funds to use a dedicated racecar, what would be absolutely necessary to have fun and do well in HPDE group 1? It will be my DD, so I can change it a little bit, but it needs to keep smog and be streetable after
