Default fuel smell?

Hey guys, the crx i just picked up gets somewhat of a fuel smell to it, at first i thought it was just the smell of the inside of the car, coming from being a mechanics car, but i cleaned it out and put some air freshner in there and after driving it around town, the fuel smell comes back. Is there any common fuel leaks in these cars that i could look for? The car runs and drives great, never seems as tho it is lacking fuel at all

the lines that go to the tank have some rubber hoses that like to crack after so much use, i think the rubber hose is just a vent but it does crack and give you a fuel smell....

Check the area near the fuel filter. When mine got clogged and some of my lines were crap, I had a leak right from the fuel filter. I remember driving around and then all of a sudden smelling the fuel and the smell only getting stronger. Good luck!

Did you figure this out yet? I am having a simular problem with my 92 civic. Mechanic told me it might be the rubber overflow. It goes to the tank I guess. When the car is low on fuel I don't smell it. When the car if filled up I smell it. It is like it is coming from inside the car.

Good luck

ok im going out on a long shot but i read a similar post in the EG forum and it happened to be that the previous owner of a fellow honda-techer had put a 4" screw through tye floor and into the tank when puting in a amp and speakers. so just take a look in case they took thir equipment out and left holes in the floor
