Transmissions are not as difficult to work with as everyone makes them out to be.
If you can undo the housing bolts, you can reseal it. The most confusing part about it will be torquing them in the right order and to the right spec....which is simple enough....once you get a manual.
Its really just as simple as the 2nd sentence I wrote in the previous post:
"undo all the bolts and place a bead of rtv where the halves come together."
If the trans is already on the car-
If a shop did it, make it their problem. They screwed up.
If you did it, then you already know how to drop the trans.
