Techno Spirit, Backyard Special, Feel's, Spoon (old type), and Mugen use a stock pan that has a kickout and welded-in baffle! There are a couple more makers but I can't dig them outta my cluttered noggin'...

unfortunately, im anti-mugen/spoon... I'd rather get something more cost effective instead of outrageously priced for the name.

please remember im looking for cost effective. paying 500 dollars for a oil pan is kinda insane for me.

Luckily for you the Mugen oil pan is only $249 But since you are anti-Mugen/Spoon because of their "500 dollar" oil pans, I guess you'll have to look elsewhere.

What about that PSI pan that cost like 600 bux (you know the one I'm talkin about?); what's up with that???

According to VTEC Sports (Vol. 2 - page 151), the J's Racing pan, which looks like a cast alumimum piece (not a modified stock pan) lists for JY 28,000.

It holds 1.5 quarts more than the stock pan and the order brand new pans from Hunda Japon ! That's still too much money for a steel oil pan!!! Way too much!! The J's pan is made by PSi so it is steel.

So what is the most cost-effective aluminum unit then? NOT the Spoon with theheat sinks! ($!)

sack-who needs one since his mad cornering skills have brought the oil light on when the level was at the lower dot

Spoon has two pans. The ubber expensive two piece aluminum pan that replaces the crank girdle is outrageous. The normal Steel pan is PSi copy that has a welded-in baffle and kickout for more capacity. The Mugen pan is the same.

How much oil does each pan hold (stock, mugen, spoon)
just trying to get the facts straight

i havent done any price comparisons because i was looking for the names of manufacturers.

The Mugen pan is the same as stock with respect to capacity.

Any pan made from the stock unit will have the same capacity,
so I 'd expect the same for the stock based Spoon one.

OK, Dee says the super-expensive PSI pan ($600+) is actually a DRY SUMP setup; sounds good for roadracers eh?

Stock B18C pan..............................4.8 liters
PSI dual kickout plus baffle..............7.0 liters 49000yen
PSI single kickout plus baffle............6.0 litres (used by Spoon, J's and Feel's)
J's racing baffle only .......................4.8 liters 24900yen
Spoon sports baffle only..................4.8 liters 24900yen
Mugen baffle only............................4.8 liters 24900yen
Feel's baffle only ............................4.8 liters 24900yen

Shane the PSI Dry sump pan is sold to the general public and the fittings on the wet sump 7 liter pan are for a temp gauge and an external pump driven OC.
