Car Nearly got stolen, and now CEL is on.
Ok so my 2000 si almost got jacked a few days ago, I came outside at 2 in the morning and the car was moved about 2 blocks down, smack in the middle of an intersection. The inside of the car was just as I had left it, no messing around with the fuses or anything. The exterior was also fine, so Im not sure if somebody tried to push it or what. (good thing i have a kill switch)
Anyways I was just relieved my car was in one piece
, but when i turned it on the CEL showed up. Now i pulled the code manually using the paper clip method, and i got 7 short flashes which translates to the TPS (throttle position sensor). What do i go about doing next HT?

Now u might have to notch them or cut them to be able to loosen them. next, back probe the tps sensor ( the middle wire) which is the signal wire. Next turn the car to the on position but don't start it. Now check the voltage coming through the wire, it should be .45V at idle. If not, turn the tps sensor clockwise or counterclockwise until the voltage reaches .45V. Once u reach the specific voltage tighten up the screws, and then check the voltage to make sure it's still at .45V. And ur done!

Good luck! I'd tell you that " wow you should've searched bla bla " But then again, its weird that you got that CEL after a jack attempt. Anyways . . . you're extremely lucky you kept your car! Beef the security up some more, they could be back

My guess would be that it is an intermittent problem. Reset the ECU and see if it comes back. It obviously came on because someone tried to steal your car, I really doubt there is something wrong. When the thief tried to pop your clutch something triggered the sensor.
