Headlights 95 Accord
Why are my headlights so dim? They do not seem to project forward much more than a car-length ahead. The lenses were yellowish. So I cleaned them up and they look ok now. You can see the bulbs in there when you couldn't before. On the low beam side there is a deflector or whatever ya call it in front of the bulb. Is that supposed to be there or what? These lights really suck. What suggestions do you folks have to help me be able to see at night?

if u want ur headlight brighter
u can use 9005(mod to fit) for ur low beam
or
go w/ HID

i never try this myself
so i 'm not too sure about this
I know some ppl did it in their 5gen accord b4 HID's price is affordable
the 5 gen USDM accord hi/low beam seems like using the same gauge wire (18-20)
here r some math
stock hi beam 65W/12V = 5.41A 65W/14V = 4.64A
stock low beam 55W/12V = 4.83A 55W/14V = 3.92A
its about 12% higher for 12V & 18% higher for 14V (the 55W/12V = 4.83A >65W/14V = 4.64A, so doesn't matter the wire can handle65w/14V for sure)
so........its up to u

I would try new bulbs. The ones on your Accord are probably just old. I just switched to silverstars the other day and there is a definite difference. My dad switched to Silverstar Ultras and said they're even better, I haven't seen them at night though.

I used those instructions several years ago with some Silverstars in my Integra. It was a very nice increase in light. I will have to do the same in my Accord. Thanks for the link! I totally forgot about the 9006 to 9005 mod!
