93 civic dx idle surging
ive searched and cant find anyone with the same problem, but its a stock motor (d15b7) and eveyrthing is stock, other then a tsudo muffler, and a no name intake, but the idle jumps from 1000-2500 constently and im unaware of how to fix, i covered the tb trying to see if some sort of vacuum leak but didnt find anything, when i unplug the tps it revs to 3500 and just idles there, and then when i unplug the map sensor it does same as tps, ive never seen a map sensor on a civic, but mine has one.... stock p06 ecu.

yes, all civics have map sensors. first i will ask have you gotten any CEL? if not still check it, sometimes they might not show but are saved in the computer.
also when was the last time you had a tune up? valve adjustment? changed the pcv valve?

i just did the cel checker thing in the faq and the cel light came on and just stayed on without ne thing going on, should i maybe let my car run for little while? cause i did disconnect the battery to work on electrical stuff yesterday...

bump, ive pulled off the fast idle thermo valve, and the idle air control valve, both got cleaned, and still idling high, any ideas???
my map sensor isnt directly on the tb, insted its over near the fuel filter and is connected by a black hose, any ideas?

yeah if you disconnected the battery, then yes lat the car run for awhile.
but do not leave the jumper in the harness (for the code reading), remove it then start the car.

yo man its a very common problem actually, its a vacuum problem. so a good way vto find it would be clean the engine bay and then when it's dry turn the car on wait for the surge and then spray all the lines with brakleen. then u'll either see a spray or the rpm's will get higher.
