You need to swap seat pans on the front. What I mean is you keep the seat pans and rails from your car but swap all the rest from the Si. I have an 89' DX I swapped seats in from a 91' Si. Oddly enough for my case the passenger side from the Si had to be my drivers seat. Other than the hog pins everything was fairly easy, and the hog pins wheren't all that bad either.

you can either do a seat pan swap ( use your 88-89 seat pan on the 90-91 ) or you can drill a hole where the rail sits, and weld a 12mm nut into the hole that you drilled. it's ghetto but it sits straight.

DO i have to switch just the pan where u sit on or the part were ur back goes on too ??? i just switched the pan where u sit on and now im all confused on how it goes...it seems like its flipped over...
You actually have to push the seat cover pretty good to get at the bolts that hold the back cover on. I think you can leave those alone though and just remove the bolts that attach the back piece to the seat pan. I think you'll be in the same boat I was, with the passenger seat from the other car being your new drivers seat. Let me see if I have a few of the picks from my seat swap with me.

i dont recommend drilling holes... they are not safe and are not that tight... i had racing seats on my other car and i had to drill holes and the seats would move...just do the seat pan swap. im doing it right now in this moment.
Sorry can't get my buddy's PC to cooperate. Actually I do remember keeping the original (from my car) handle, cable, & mechanism that allows the seat to lean back. So I was wrong you do have to push the bottom side of the cover on the back portion of the seat to get to the bolts. I remember it being a pain to get the seat back bolted to the mechanism/pan. If you think you can't do it without riping the material just remove some hog pins and pull the cloth back some to make access to those bolts easier.
Good luck. If your still having problems by the 14th I should be able to post those picks, but I don't think they're going to be real helpful.

Creator that's why you had to switch ur seats because of the handle that reclines the seat. Im changing mines to the stock seat handle...that way i wont have to switch the seats...
Yea it's all coming back to me now. Thing is there was something about the mechanism that didn't fit the seat pan, and thats why I couldn't switch to the Si style.
It worked out better that way anyways, because the Si original drivers seat (now my passenger seat) was slightly worn out.

Alright People im Done everything went good... i didnt have to switch my driver seat to the passenger....wooo hoooooo hit me up if u need help on doing a seat swap..
If you're willing to do this, you can actually swap all the SI fabric and foam over to your old seats. It's not that hard, you just have to work on it for a while.
The main problem you'll run into will be this:

It took me a while to get used to working on seats.
A few weeks ago I actually put passenger side 89 SI foam and fabric onto my driver's side DX seat. Other than a few things on the fabric/foam not lining up to the bolt holes, everything went well! The only 'serious' mod I did was to weld on the shoulder supports. You can see what I'm talking about in the link above. The DX seats do not have those supports, but otherwise the metal internals are identical.
EDIT: Just saw that you were successful, haha.
Oh well, if anyone searches for this topic maybe my post will help.
