Default Ummm, sparks from brakes under *heavy* braking - normal??

Bishop and I (and friends) were heading down a highway after dinner and we did a 2nd gear pull through fourth... as soon as I hit 90 or so, I hit my brakes lightly at first, and then really layed into them hard to get slowed down to about 30. He flies by, and then a couple seconds later they're shouting at us from the other car that they saw sparks, shooting out from my front brakes, when I was under very heavy braking. It stopped as soon as I let off, and it didn't do it again under light braking - I was afraid to brake heavily again until I found out what the deal was.

I have Hawk HP Plus brake pads at all four corners.

Normal. I've heard a few tales of sparking performance pads. No biggie from what I understand

Those Hawks you're running have a high "metallic" content... You get sparks when metal contacts metal...

yaya, sounds about right... If you have the confidence to go recreate the heavy braking you'll probably get the same result. You haven't gotten any sounds or warning lights so that pretty much rules out pad wear and i tihnk you'd know if a linkage was bad.

I'm not sure how many of you have seen the home made video Getaway in Stockholm, but there is a shot of the front wheels of a 911 throwing off a couple sparks. Kinda cool.

Carbotech P+'s do it also. Ask Willard and Pat how they looked on the way to expo when we were running down SR50 (or what every back woods country road we were on).

No problem
I´ve got Ferodo DS3000, does the same thing and at night it really grabs attention when you stand heavy on the brakes.
