well the poor mans type R is the other way around, gsr block with a B16 head.

that is kind of an odd combo, I bet that not that many people have done this either.

you might actualy lose a little power with that.

The head is also taller so check your hood clearance and puchase a gsr header cause you will need it.

If I were you I would just locate a B16 head, theres something to be said for being able to get specific part for a motor as aposed to a frankenstein motor.

the compression will go up quite a bit, im not sure how much . I know when you put a b16 head on a gsr block the compression goes down, So yours should go up quite a bit.
I would think you would get better performance if tuned properly, especially with the gsr cams.

From my understanding, compression goes up, flow goes down. Run it and let us know how it works.

your compression is actually going to go down the gsr head is bigger (in cc's) than the b16 which will make the combustion chamber bigger and lowering you comp. ratio, you should get an ls block for next to nothing and throw the gsr head on that

Don't listen to the noobs....The GS-R head will work fine, the header will fit exactly the same..you will need a p72 ecu for proper function if you choose to keep the stock GS-R butterflies...The GS-R head will raise your compression from 10.2:1 compression to just above 10.4:1, and the flow difference is negligible...probably won't even notice the difference.

your an idiot thats absolutely wrong the gsr head has a BIGGER combustion chamber than the SMALLER b16 which would make your compression DROP to some where around 9.8 instead of the 10.4 cr a STOCK b16 puts out which will make your car slower i've seen it done my bone stock ls was quicker

EPIC FAIL!!!

slightly more compression, slightly more aggressive cams, with the IM secondaries you will probably gain some midrange. If you get it tuned you will make a little more power.

GSR head > B16 head, but as stated before the differences are negligible.
