FYI...dont dump the Clutch "out the hole"
....After install of my Competition Stage 4 Clutch...5500RPM's held it...and Dumpped the clutch and FAILED... I have over 40K miles...Autocross and Drag Raced Regularly...Bound to happen..but damn!...Be careful out there!
Explain to me why you have a Stage 4 clutch on a Civic Si?? Unless you're pushing hundreds of HP above stock it's absolutely pointless.
Stage 4 is strictly a racing clutch and will never last as long as a street/stock clutch will.
Give us some more info.....how many miles were on it before it went out??
Then again if you autocross and drag race frequently....then NO clutch will last you for very long.

Here is the full explanation, since you asked.
Back in feburary I went to All Jap Performance. (The designers of the signature AJP turbo kits for our cars) They are local, Im down the street from them. I put a deposit down on a stage 2 turbo kit with the return fuel setup and stage 4 competition clutch. Long story short, big delay in the kit arriving, money tightened up slightly and decided to put my deposit towards a nice N/A setup. Since the clutch already came in, i went ahead and put it in. Not bad at all!! Obviously a lil heavier feel then the stock clutch, but grabs like nothing i have ever felt! So back to my N/A build. I decided to get the Hondata Reflash and a ported AJP intake manifold to go along with my DCRH, AEM SRI, and HFP axel-back. Since, there too was a delay in the AJP manifold, the owner Ron..gave me a sweet deal on an FD2 type R manifold they had laying around. Everything on that manifold..runners, and throttle body are larger, and b/c of this my AEM intake has some minor fitment issues, and will eventually need to get a JDM intake..preferably a Mugen one.
Now on to my N/A numbers. with the following mods:
>AEM SRI
>Hondata IMG
>Hondata Reflash
>DCRH
>HFP Axel-back ( which is pretty much stock, still running stock piping)
...Good enough explanation for ya

Boy you really did a number on that motor mount.
But I guess 40K is a long way to go when you're drag racing/auto crossing all the time.
I'm guessing your clutch will be due up pretty soon now.

highly doubt it since my stock one was holding up pretty fine...I have probably the strongest street/track clutch on the market..im sure it will last a very long time.
219? what kind of dyno?

any "performance" clutch will sacrifice longevity to increase grip. Most likely it won't last as long as the OEM clutch.

X2. That's a pretty big gain for a few boltons and a reflash....especially since the reflash doesn't really increase top end power too much.

My thoughts exactly. I was just gonna let it go though. Didn't really wanna say anything for the sake of this turning into another argument.

1. HFP axle back is not a "crappy mod". It may not give performance gains....but it sounds nice and looks great on our cars.
2. I've had my "crappy" DCRH on for over a year now without any issues.

compared to the ajp stage 2 turbo kit, those are crappy mods. dont care what you have to say about it.

Your ignorance continues to amaze me on a DAILY basis.
AJP turbo kit is certainly a BETTER mod to have in terms of power output......but that doesn't mean the other mods are "crappy" just because they don't produce as much power.
AJP turbo kit produces more power than a Comptech S/C kit......but which do you think is the better mod?? Tell me brainiac.
80% of people would choose the Comptech S/C over the AJP turbo anyday simply because it is much better built and considered better quality. MORE RELIABLE. The 20% that would choose the Turbo kit would be because of sheer power output despite the sky-high cost.
So try to re-think your strategy before you decide to open your mouth and say something is "crappy" just because it doesn't make as much power as something else.

Hmmm...I remember an exhaust also but maybe it was a axle back, doesn't that count as a crappy mod?
My Si will remain stock so good luck with your car...if your feeling frisky I can roll out the hatch and show you some real mods

I have no problem with you sharing an opinion. And if you recall my previous post after your "crappy" response.....I simply corrected you because you stated that the OPs mods were "crappy" in relation to a turbo kit.
That in fact isn't the case.
All you're doing by making statements like that is discouraging OTHER members from purchasing those products. Yes DC has had some issues regarding their race header in the past.....but that issue has long since been resolved. To the point where that particular modification is not a "crappy" mod.
How many people have recently come onto this forum and posted about their DCRH breaking, or melting, or cracking....??
None recently that I can recall. So saying it's a crappy mod isn't justified at all and it's nothing but a rash generalization on YOUR part.
And here you are saying a HONDA FACTORY PERFORMANCE axle back is a crappy mod to.....why.....because it doesn't chomp out 200HP??
You need to think OUTSIDE the power box and realize that there's more to modifications than just numbers alone.
Somebody get me a beer!!

my comment was justified as it is my opinion. and i wasnt really refering to the dcrh as the crappy mod, i shoud have been more specific. the aem sri and the hfp axle-back are crappy in my opinion when compared to the turbo kit he was going to get. i once owned the hfp muffler and that is my opinion on that. so keep your
and have a
cause technically the one who should be arguing this point is the OP and not you, and he hasnt said a damn thing!
