Manual/auto swap-Oil pan brackets?
I have a 1995 d16z6 EX coupe AUTO. I just got a 98 d16y8 MANUAL. I want to do a conversion (Put the 98 man trans in 95 coupe) but the y8 has an aluminum oil pan with two brackets that bolt to the man trans. D16z6 has steel pan so theres no place to bolt the brackets to. Im guessing the inspection plates are different too. Are these brackets just left off? Are there different bracket from a 95 i can get at a junk yard. Is the case of the 95 man trans different from the 98 man trans? Will the aluminium y8 pan bolt right on the the d16z6? Will the 95 auto brackects bolt to the 987 man trans?

You use the bracket for the motor, not the trans. Its just an engine dampaning (sp?) brace. Its cool to have but not a big deal if you dont.
Edit: Im 90% sure you could use auto bracket for 92-95 but i know 100% for sure for 96-00 you have to use manual. Might have to do the same for 92-95

Thanks for the response. Youre right. I went ahead and decided to start removing the auto from the 95 and the manual from the 98. The "stiffener" or dampening brackets from the 95 auto/d16z6 look like they will line up just fine with the 98 man trans so I will be using the original (d16z6) oil pan. Thanks again.
