quick question for you guys. I was at the junkyard and there was a CRX that had a d16a1 SOHC motor in it. The crx was an 88 si. Im just trying to figure out whats up cause everything ive read says that the d16a1 is a dohc in a teg... But I bought the 88 si cable tranny for my sohc d15b7.

 

The only d16a1 engines that I have seen are the dohc engines out of the 86-89 integra. The 88-91 civic/crx si should have a d16a6 in it.

 

i dono. im going back in a few days ill double check if its still there.

 

i read about some guy doing a dohc d series swap over to a sohc block. it didnt work. oil leaked everywhere. i bet it could be done, just dont see why anyone would put a SOHC head on instead of a DOHC
