Rough Idle After Acceleration
i recently purchased a 95 integra LS, it has been lightly modified. it has the GSR motor swap and other misc. things, urithane bushings all around, CAI, headers, full exhaust ect. but mostly it is stock. just a swap and easy BS bolton mods ( not my doing)
ok so heres my problem. when the car is warmed up, after giving it a little bit of throttle the idle becomse very rought, it drops down to about 300-500 rpms for about 5 mins then it will jump back up to 700rpms. first i feel that most honda's and acura's idle at about 900rpms. (ive owned a few hondas). so my originals thoughts were that it wasnt getting enough spark/ fuel or the timing was off. so i replaced the cap and rotor on the distributer and cleaned the injectors, and checked the timing. the timing was spot on. but the cap and rotor def. needed to be replaced, and the injectors also needed a cleaning.
this did not solve the problem to my dismay
so my next plan of attack was to check all the vaccum lines, all are fine except the fuel pressure regulator line. it had about a half in gash in it. i replaced this as well, but i was still getting a rough idle.
so now i am going to do a compression check to see if every thing is sealing well inside the engine. by the way the integra is running very rich, and when i cleaned the injectors there was a large amount of carbon build up on them. i also did a sea foam treatment on the engine to help remove any of the gunk in the top end of the engine.
all comments/ advice are greatly appreciated, i need to have my integra in running condition for the summer !!!!!!!!!!!
thanks Carl
