Default ATTS tranny on H22a

I have an 01 sh and i was wondering if i could put the 01 sh atts transmission on the obd1 H22a. Doesnt really matter to me if the atts is working or not nor the emissions. Dont have a law here where I live. Sorry if this has already been covered i looked but could only find the other way around. Thanks alot.

No, that won't work. The ATTS tranny has a coaxial output to the ATTS unit, so you can't use normal intermediate shafts with that trans.

no there is no place to mount the unit on the block. SH block has 4 mounting holes for the atts unit.

I've always wondered: you can make an adapter to use an SH block to use with a Base trans. Would the reverse of the adapter work?

Well, you could probably gut the ATTS unit and take the two piece output shaft and have it welded to a normal intermediate shaft.... but you would probably be better off if you just put in a normal manual transmission with the obd1 H22. They are not too expensive these days.

...or if you want to keep ATTS, you could probably cut and hack on the block and/or ATTS unit to adapt it, but again--probably not worth the trouble.

Actually I don't trying to make ATTS work with a regular block would be worth it (or maybe possible). The oil cooler and water pipe are issues.

It'd mount to the three holes for the intermediate shaft. The adapter would have to have the four holes for the atts unit.

yeah but I think the ATTS unit sits back closer to the block, which enables the adaptors for the SH block to work. Also as stated there are the issues of the water pipe and oil filter etc.
