i just want to be 100% sure on this
I just swapped in an SI tranny. I have a turbo d16y8 and ive gone through 2 CX tranny's in about 3 months cause they dont hold the power (the dif demolished itself on the first one and second gear demolished itself on the second)...So i heard alot of people saying that the SI tranny's are stronger and there're obviously shorter so i picked one up.
Now me and my friend were arguing on the way proper way to fill up a d series tranny and how much to put in (we didnt have our manual on us)...so my quesiton is :
1. do you fill it from the spring loaded cap under the starter or from the side?
2. and how much oil goes in?
i wanna get this straight once and for all

The Si/Ex trannys have steel shift forks and are stronger than the other civic transmissions -- yes. fill it up til it starts to pour back out.
If you pour it thru the VSS, then remove the bolt through were u originally are supposed to pour it in through, and pour it in through the VSS hole until it leaks out through the side.

When or how are you breaking the diffs/gears? At the track? 3rd/4th gear pulls on the hwy? It's probably not the fact they're CX trannys, it's the way it's driven in comboination with the extra power being spead through them. GL!
at the track and on the highway....blew diff at the track and blew second on the highway when i started to get some wheel hop...its not my driving trust me lol. It just cant handle the power
