seafoamed my egr - now i got a map sensor code
ok, so i've been driving around w/ an egr code for awhile and decided to seafoam the ports. seafoam cleared up egr code, but after an hour of driving, map sensor code came on. coincidence? i never took off the map, so i didn't switch plugs. any ideas?
Most likely just a coincidence since the Seafoam is added to the manifold after the MAP vacuum line. Its a possibility the idle fluctuation from having the booster line unhooked may have tripped the code. I'd check the MAP wiring and reset the ECU and see if it comes back on.
I had a similar experience happen to me, other than its my egr code that will not clear. I have replaced almost the entire system (will have replaced it when the rest of the parts get here) and I still get the egr code. I use to love sea foam but since this head ache, I wont use it.
didn't mention before, but i also have a greddy emanage w/ boost sensor. before i had the boost sensor, the emanage was running off the stock map and i kept getting map sensor codes. then i installed the boost sensor, and it went away. after doing the egr seafoam, i reset the ecu. thats when the map started up. i've reset the ecu a couple times but it comes back and stalls the car.
