Default JDM ITR 6-SPD Transmission....

... Does the ITR transmission have the 2nd / 3rd gear grinds? Is it stronger than the RSX tranny? I'm probably gonna have to pick one up and just wondering. I heard it's kinda race built tranny, and do most of them come with LSD?

They all come with LSD and no there is no 2nd/3rd gear grind that i know of. I have a JDM ITR tranny in my rsx and its great. The type-s should have come from the factory with this tranny instead of the POS tranny that it came with

All JDM k20a type R come with LSD tranny. As for the grinds... I'm pretty sure it will occur sooner or later. It's not immune to grinds just because it's a type r lol.

Yeah but it likely was abused. I don't think that is a general characteristic.

I personally don't have gear grinds with my Type R gearbox with over 100,000kms on it, although I know of a few guys that have grinds here in Australia.

As far as I know the gearboxes in Australian Type R's are identical to JDM.

Yeah that's probably the easiest thing to do. It was pretty hard for me to find a type-r tranny that was parted away from a type-r swap. everyone wants to sell it as a complete swap but after 2 months of searching, finally found one and its GREAT!

jdmland has a tranny for around 1400 shipped. good deal, considering it has zero miles.
