Suffering gas mileage..what seems to be the problem?
My b18c1 93 da recently managed to get me about 24.2 mpg with me getting on it maybe once or twice and mostly driving on the highway. This is everything thats wrong with the car, that I can think of. What looks most likely?
1.) I have a little breather filter on the valve cover
2.) I have never changed the pcv valve
3.) None of the injectors have the little filters on them, tick loudly
4.) I have an exhaust leak where the top half of the exhaust mani meets the bottom half, and also where the mani meets the cat
5.) Has a itr style intake manifold and is untuned
6.) I also have Omnipower flatfaced/lightened valves
7.) Two check engine lights-one for knock sensor and one for eld. I didnt wire the knock sensor and the eld is something a da doesnt have.
edit-Thanks to anyone who takes the time to look this over!

what could be wrong with the maf sensor? wouldnt it throw a code for that or the o2? im wondering if the reading the o2 sensor is wrong bc of my exhaust leak.
Our cars do not have a MAF (mass air flow) sensor. We have MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensors.
If the exhaust leak is before the O2 sensor, it can cause problems. O2 sensors can also drift over time without throwing a code. Patrick94GSR had a thread on this.

could you link me to it? btw, i thought it was a map sensor but theres so much misinformation floating around, its hard to pick whats right and whats wrong.
I could be wrong, so someone correct me if I am.. But your knock sensor code could be robbing you some gas mileage.. When your ecu throws that code, the ecu will automitically retard ignition timing.. Also, a combination of all of the other things you mentioned could rob you gas mileage too..

that makes really great sense! that might explain why my car feels so damn slow. maybe a tune is in order...

update-i wired up the knock sensor and it made a vast improvement. i had adjusted the time w/o realizing the ecu had retarded it, so after i hooked up the sensor the timing was advanced 10 degrees. after i fixed that, the car really picked up a bunch of power in the bottom end and seems to be getting about 28 mpg.
