well je pistons are bigger bore anyway.
you'll neednew rods and pistons and rings.
after thatnew bearings. before you put it together
get the pistons, rods, and crank all balanced.
then put it back together. the local acura dealer has all your seals
from top to bottom. they sell it in a kit.
the head should be ported and polished bigger valves and some crower cams.
the whole rebuild, with parts and machine work is about 2500
but i don't know anything about how much its going to cost for the mechanic to put it together.

machine shop = $$LOOT$$

for cams, go with crower 404s and upgraded valvetrain. if you get 403s with a built engine you will regret it!

I am basically in the same boat as you are. I have a 94 LS and i want more!! I dont know if i want to swap for a B18C and then start going to work, or stick with the B18B and start doing stuff??? Any suggestions (sp)??? In the end i plan on going turbo so thats why i think i am going to stick with the B18B.

But towards your situation, if your planning on going all motor, keep the LS block, and go to http://www.importbuilders.com. You can buy a VTEC head for about $2000 with everything possible on it. Already drilled for LS/Vtec. I dont know if that can be beat unless you know people in the buisness.

there was a thread in the clasifieds for a built b18b block, i think they were asking 450 for it or something, maybe you should look into it, then you could keep saving and do some real mods that are worth your time

i've done it all...
i have a b18b...that i decided to go turbo with...
like mentioned b4...higher compression pistons if your going motor...lower compression if u turbo...rods...(stock honda rods handle up to about 280 horses)...get some crower rods if you want anything about 300...) get new bearings, balanced crank shaft...(and get the block sleeved)...as for the head...if its n/a crower stage 4 cams, skunk2 cam gears, 3 angle valve job, port intake manifold...bored the throttle body 2mm over...retainers and springs are also needed...skunk2 intake manifold and a cai, along with a hytech header running 2.25 piping to a high flow cat and out...for turbo port and polish, skunk2 intake manifold, don't get cams...get retainers and valve springs.....hondata stage 2...and if you guys have a ls tranny keep it for turbo or get a gsr/si/type r for n/a...
however IMO..i got the R tranny w/lsd...makes a world of difference...

i got the 403s and i'm fine with it. it cost me $2600 to built my motor not bad. if you are going turbo you should sleeve it.
