i have a 94 rs. with 130k it bruns some oil, about 1 1/2 quarts between oil changes, 3k, i was wondering what weight oil i shoud use. i plan on rebuildin it in a few months so its just a temp. solutino

 

Well since your in NY and the temp at the eastcoast have been getting near 90º or so, i think i would suggest using a higher weight. I used a 10W-30 instead of the 5W-30 but that's because i don't lose oil much and the extra 5W in the beginning will help me when i start my car at hot temp. Most of the time your buring more oil is because your car is heated way too much while driving or racing so if you increase the weight to say 10W-40 than you should be ok.

 

i dont think it matters much your gonna rebuild it .. just use normal weights ... 5w30 / 10w30 / 20w50 whatever (: if you had a leak .. id say use a the thicker for time being 20w50
