Default H22 Cranks

hi folks, is the open deck h22 crank any different from the closed deck h22 crank? I have a JDM closed deck block and I have a crank out of a open decked H22 block, are all the bearings and clearances the same with the newer and the older H22s?

92-97 = 50mm mains
some 98's made in 97 have 50mm mains
98-01 = 55mm mains

different bearing clearances for different main sizes. The rod size is the same on all years.

your closed deck block has 50mm mains. Measure the mains from your crank. If they are 55mm, you have to get another crank or get another block.

hmm do you know exactly when they switched to the 55mm mains then ? Maybe all the 98s made prior to 01/98 ran the 50mm mains ?
