Maybe someone can explain this problem with my Clifford Alarm
I had this alarm installed about a month ago after my car got stripped down (i.e. wheels, spoilers, badges, etc...). I decided to go with the perimeter option in addition to a shock sensor b/c I thought that would deter someone from lifting my ground effects and badges. The only problem is that it goes off all the freaking time. The sensitivity is not that high, b/c you can stand beside it and it won't go off. It seems to do it a lot more often when it rains or after I have been driven with the A/C on for a while and then parked.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Oh what a delightfull nostalgic topic for me. I used to run a Circui Shitty install shop. Basically your perimter sensor is an active sensor that looks for bounce backs from the signals it sends out. When you arm the noise maker, oops I mean alarm, the little thingy starts sending out signals. If nothing moves, everything is OK. When something moves the alarm trips. At arm stage, the sensor is not at full sensitivity. As time goes on (15 minutes), the sensor will reach it's peak sensitivity. The sensor can only work through glass. It cannot work through metal. (if the guy said it does, he may be just tying to make his monthly numbers) When the rain falls it causes all kinds of motion and trips the sensor. The AC thing, I dunno.
I used to try to NOT sell these things to people. Even people with convertible tops. All the time they would come back and say, this alarm sucks.
Protect your car by parking it inside or somethine that really means protection. I am not a crook or theif, but alarms are only good as good noise makers. They only stop the punk amatuers. Pro theives, can get by an alarm in3 secs, just dissconnect the battery.
If you want a better _attempt_ at protecting your car, you can _try_ the following:
Get a battery back up, and install it in an insane place to get to.
Install the siren horn in a hard to get to place. you ahve to hide the siren so someone cannot just yank the horn to quie the alarm. One of the guys in my shop installed the siren and a loud *** honking horn inside the car. They'll have to loose some hearing in order to steal the car.
Starter Kills are a joke. They only screw you up.
That suxs to have been ripped off. I have been there a few times. I found the best was to leave the car in some place that was decent like my garage. My wife went ahead and broke all of the badges before she put them back on.

Try putting lithium grease around your hoodpin. The same thing happened with my alarm when it rained but that solved it.
