Hi guys
I was out last night, and while driving on a bumpy road my speedo stopped working and my check engine light came on. Ive been told it could be the VSS but i cant find where this is on my car (a JDM EK4 SiR w/b16) i have a service manual but i think the diagram is for a SOHC and for the life of me i cant find the VSS on my car.

Also could a blown fuse have caused this problem?

it is on tranny.right underneath air intake pipe

 

thanks man i found the plug for it, it was firmly attached. still no speedo, any advice? should i take out the vss and clean it??

 

no you cant clean it....just replace it

 

right i got to i and took it out, it looks in perfect condition any advice??

9 out of 10 times, the plug has a rotten pin, not on the VSS but on the engine harness plug that connects to the VSS. what we've done is take the pin out of another ej and hook it up to the plug and it worked.

 

im kinda having the same problem ... if i shift hard sometimes it will flicker tho.

with all this turbo preperation i just havent gotten around to fixing it yet, + im not putting miles on my car lol
