Default Have axle problem

I have a 95 civic coupe w/b16 swap. Problem started one say when I came to work, car drove fine on the way to work. When I got off of work I noticed that my left tire was sticking, and makeing a poping sound. So I drove the car home, takeing it eazy not knowing what was going on, and when I was two blocks from home an turning right I heard a pop. Not knowing what made that sound I straightend the wheel and gave the car some gas, I got nothing in first gear. Car was crawling at 5 mph and slowing down.

I can still put the car in gear and it doesn't move, I hear something spinning but not catching. I made some calls to people that know more about Hondas than me, and was told if I can get it in gear and nothing happens axles are broken. I bought two new axles and installed right side one. Know my problem is with the driver's axle. The new one I got looks nothing like the old one in the car. My question is does the axle on driver's side have to come off the shaft or does the axle and shaft that bolts on to the motor have to come off together.

i'm guessing you bought axles for your car and did not consider the motor you have in it. if you told them you need axles for a 95 honda civic them you will be getting d series axles and if i'm not mistaken the drivers side is one long axle and with a b series it's a shorter axle. if it was me i would go take both axles back and ask for 95 integra axles, which is what you need. (94-01 axles are all the same but just to keep it simple ask for 95.) if your car has anti lock brakes then get one for abs if not then get one without abs. without abs is cheaper but if your car is equipped with abs then you'll need it. hope this helps.

when i changed the right one i matched them up and there both the same length, so i installed it. had no problem when i put that one in, just with driver side one. so just take it back and get one for a 95 integra. my question is how do i take the driver side axle apart from the shaft that it goes into.

use a ball joint separator (aka pickle fork), put it between the axle and intermediate shaft and pry the axle out of the intermediate shaft. and yeah the passenger side will work i just personally like buying the parts from the same car.
