no crank after motor swap
OK guys here is the run down. I have a 92 civic with a 98 gsr motor. I just bought a 94 gsr integra. I took the motor out of the teg because it had hella miles on it, and decided to swap the 98 gsr from the civic into it.
Well, the motor went in, had everythign connected, fluids filled, blah blah.. I go to crank the car up and nothing. the radio, lights, ect all work, but the starter wont crank the car.
I thought the battery might be bad, so i tested and it tested perfect(its only 2 months old.) Then I figured the starter was bad, so i swapped in a known working one, still nothing.
WTF....
The motor in the teg now is a 1998, I reused the 1994 wiring harness, dizzy, alt., injectors, ect.
I did notice on the 1998 GSR motor there is a crank sensor right near the crank pully, I left that unplugged, because the 1994 gsr motor did not have that sensor there. Im assuming its inside the dizzy, which I used.
Im getting power to the starter, Then I went inside the car and put the test light on the Starter Signal 7.5 amp fuse, no power..
When I first pulled the motor, I took out the whole harness with the motor, including the + cable that goes to the battery, and also to the fuse box. Is there any way thoes could be mixed up? I tried switching them around and nothing..
I also tried taking both starters out of the tranny and set them aside and tried to crank the car, still nothing.
I am 100% stumpted on this one. I really dont think I have anything backwards, ive checked all the fuses like 15 times, idk what else to do.

1st thing if your lights, radio, and all other electrics are working then why would you think it's a problem with your battery? 2nd, if you put both starters aside and had no starter bolted up (keyword STARTER), there is no possible way you motor will crank so that was just useless to try.
just to clarify, is the motor not turning over at all or is it turning over and just not firing up?

Its not turning over at all.
I tested the battery just to eliminate it from the list... Didn't hurt to try right?
I had the starter hooked up, just not bolted to the tranny to see if they would engage or w/e, kinda like a bench test. If you've ever taken a starter out on a B series you would know the bottom bolt is kind of a bitch to get to...
Thanks for your help though.

yeah i've done a couple of b series swaps and know what you're talking about. how i read it it sounded like you were putting no starter in, so sorry about that.
do you have a buddy who has a civic or integra? if you do and could get he or she over there maybe you could cross reference your connections because if your getting power to your starter but no signal from the ignition then something has to be misconnected. sorry about the confusion earlier. good luck.
