well they act like they are supreme beings and they don't like their toes stepped on. For gods sakes they whine more than a bunch of new born babies. I HATE ITR"S and the owners
no its th eones that are like " i spent 20k grand on my car and i'm the ****" and i don't get it. its like they can't accept a older faster car. THey all drive around like pimps and have this cocky game face on like the ITR is something to fear and it isn't. I don't think its fast
hahahaha i saw EF's hitting 12s and 13s a couple weeks back at the track... i saw the ITR's run 15s and 1 cracked into the 14s....
1/4 mile
and at the track i've seen NEONS and FOCI (?) smoke type R's... maybe cause of bad driver?

dude its all in good fun, seriously. i think u will find that many of us in here know our ish when it comes to ef's. so just sit back, ask questions, and we'll teach you some stuff.
most hybrid peeps who have an ITR motor have a Japanese spec B18C because they are better......
I think the USDM swap is better in many ways. The best being that it can bolt directly into a 1992-1995 Civic and even totally plug in and you're DONE as long as you run the re-chipped P28.
I have the 1998 USDM B18C5 in my 1992 CX and it literally plugged right in (ITR injectors, distributor, engine harness and all!) and dynoed better than my pal's JDM 1998 Spec ITR swap.
I know a few Atlanta Area ITR owners and they are super cool guys, but there are a lot of the ITR guys that are the typical ******** - oh well.
I guess it'd be hard to swallow when a $13,000 hatch such as mine can run 13.3 in the 1/4 mile, dyno better than them with less mods (has nothing to do with the hatch, but it is wierd), and still kick *** at auto-X even though I have no skills at that **** yet.

I'd love to put an ITR motor in my EF...but I don't know how hard that is...but man, that video cracked me up, I loved it when that little CRX just came outta NO where and got in front of the ITR...

i agree.....type r's are gay lol
ITRs are NOT gay. In fact, ITRs are probably the best FF car ever sold in America. Just because some of the ITR OWNERS act like dicks doesn't mean that the CAR is not a good car.
Stock for stock the ITR has shwon to be better than most any other FF car out there, and for you guys to not realiize this would just be plain ignorant.
Am I being hypocritical?
Nope.
Because I never said that the ITR sucks, but I did say that it is fun to beat them with a car that costed me only like $13,000 to build and it looks brand new like their ITR does because the paint and body is better than O.E.
Here's a counter point for all of us hybrid guys that I'm sure most ITR owners would defend with:
1. ITR has a warranty. ( A lot of them are still covered - especially extended ones.)
2. ITR has better brakes and suspension. This is true in most cases because a lot of hybrids are just a swap in a car with shitty coil-over sleeves and stock brakes.
3. The ITR has nicer appointments like interior and gouages. Opinion really, but I've heard it.
4. The ITR is an extremely balanced track car from the factory. It has proven time and time again to kick *** in SCCA Solo competition and road race events. Al they need is good tires and STOCK they can kick a lot of hybrids asses.
5. The ITR has a much higher book value so if it's stolen or totalled the owner gets a lot more of their money back than any hybrid owner would. This is the one thing that sucks about hybrids - period. Book value vs. actaul value means that if I have a $13,000 Civic with a book value of $2,500 then I'm basically fucked if it's stolen or totalled. Chew on that.
If that's not enough then I can assure you that I can think of more.
The ITR bashing is retarded. You are basically ripping on Honda itself and saying that their pinnacle of FF technology sucks, so what does that say about our cars then?

good post B18C5-EH2...And to some of you with the "little man syndrome," you really need to lighten up. All the bitching and moaning isn't going to make Type-R owners change. I'VE always thought hybrids were cool, I never particularly liked the looks of the hatches, my year especially, but it's such a cool idea. I bought a Type-R because I always wanted one, not because I wanted to be elite and spend a bunch of money or anything. I had an Integra before, and nothing else would do for me. I was going to buy a RWD Lexus IS-300 and decided to go the complete opposite route and get the R. Why? Because I love Integras, and frankly, my Type-R handles better than my modded LS did, it's faster, in fact, it does everything better than it's little brother did, and it's basically stock from the factory. And like B18C5-EH2 said, I have a big fat factory warranty, which is really nice. I have 2 sets of Type-R wheels because Acura put little bitty scratches on my original ones. Warranty's are a big factor for some of us, and the respect if demands from the dealer being under warranty (not all have had as good of luck as me). Yes, there is "something" to having an R, only because not everyone else does. Maybe in SoCal they do, but from where I'm at in the mid-south, there's like only one other R for 150 miles. Hybriders (and if you go to the Honda Challenge website, you'll see that's what several of the EF's on top are) should appreciate that line of thinking - it's nice to have something that not everyone else has. It's not about ego, it's just about taking pride. The R is a nice ride, and I actually drive it. I don't leave it in a garage to be praised over, I drive the **** out of it. I also purchased myself a '90 EF (si) this very weekend so that I could get back into modding again, because I miss it, and this time I want to go further than before with an engine swap eventually. No reason to mod a 25K car when my goal is to race wheel-to-wheel like in the above video. Especially when you can see EF's doing quite well, and I don't want to damage a car I make large payments on. All this being said, my point is that you have to see things from both sides. Yes, the ITR forum comes off a bit stuck-up sometimes, but it's all about pride. And from the sounds of it, you guys have LOADS of that yourselves. So lets all have a
and stop all the silly name calling. (myself included, haha)cheers
i own a 89 si w/ B16..i got to drive an ITR for the first time last weekend (BryanSprinkel's) and holy crap that car is awesome. Just cuz the owner is a dick let's not knock the car. ITRs kick major azz!
i agree, i love the itr and would trade my cars for one in a second. however i also like sticking it to those guys, hence the reason for both of these posts.
