I'm lookin for the tranny code for the original tranny that was paired w/ the d15b 3 stage vtec in a 96-99 civic ferio? tryin to get the highest mpg in a project. id like to know the code so i can compare the gearing to a stock dx tranny original to the car I'm putting the car in.

 

get the us CX or VX tranny from 92-95. Its the longest d-series tranny and bolts up fine.

i noticed just the final drive is different for the dx vs hx. whats the differences in the cx/vx compared? (noob and cant find a table)

was thinkin about a custom tranny, like ex 1-4 and cx 5 w/ like a hx final drive for example. bc i want good highway mpg but dont want to get ran over in city by a 4x4. live in redneck-ville

 

cx and vx tranny longest tranny. hands down. you can mix match but you'll wont get murdered with either tranny, it pulls u hard enuff to merge with freeway and pass cars in the city. 1st 2nd and 3rd are the gears you use the most. other 2 are just for cruzing. any longer of a tranny, the motor wont make enuff power to hold a speed on the freeway.

 

kool i was hoping to make near 100whp but get 50mpg highway. not sure if ill make these goals but be nice. think a dc sport header 4 2 1, would harm mpg more than it would improve hp vs the dx/lx style exhuast mani/cat? still running ac and ps is probably what will kill me. but easily changed later
