Default Need Help!! Dropped a Lug

sup everyone.

desperately need your help.
just the other day i was putting on some springs on my si sedan.
the placements of the struts is a b*tch to work on. . .
so while i was using a DEEP-POCKET lug. . .i accidently dropped it (behind the strut).
i wasnt able to get it and i always here it wandering around when im driving. . .

i think i need to take off the Winshield Guard so i can easily pick up the lug. . .
can anyone help me an tell me how to to take off the winsheild guard??
im thinking its being held by tabs. . .

PLEASE

1. You can probably find it by looking carefully. If you have been driving around it's probably gone.

2. Lift up the car and look around with a angled mirror.

3. If you still can't find it then take off the cowl. ( I guess )

Take off all the plastic tabs you see on top at the base of the windshield. There are 3 of them, pop out the inside and pull the entire thing out (middle) two smaller side tabs that need to be popped out. After that it is held on by plastic clips. You will see five 10 mm bolts (DON'T DROP ANYTHING AT THIS POINT IF YOU'RE CLUMSY) and four 12 mm bolts under the plastic cover. Those are holding the metal support onto the frame.

When you say "lug" do you mean socket? The lug is the threaded post that the lugnuts tighten onto.

Yeah...I was thinking he either meant lug nut or a deep socket.

Good idea. I have very big forearms, and the telescoping magnet has helped me in tight areas quite a few times.

I hope (if it was a lug nut), that the OP isn't driving around with only 4 lugnuts on one wheel.

thanks alot. . .
i got myslef a telescope magnet from autozone..
i couldnt find the SOCKET tho. . .(using a flashlight)
so i blindlessly tried to find the socket with the magnet. . .the magnet ended up getting stuck on one of the base metals. . .and as i pulled it. . it the handle part pulled off. . .so i had to use a wrench (i dont know the tools name exactly. . haah) and pulled it off. . .

so i think i need to take off the base of the winsheild. . . and thanks "24boosted" for the instructions. . .but eh. . i think im still kind of lost...is there any pictures or manuals on how to take it off????

thanks a lot fellas

Not sure if I'm understanding you correctly.....did you drop the socket on top of the strut where the engine bay is?

If so I did the same thing lol..... I just got one of those small magnet stick things, looks like an antena with a small magnet at the end and bent it to where I could grab the socket then carefully fished it out.

i dropped it in the area behind the struts. . .below the tower bar???
just imagine trying to unloosen the bolts that hold the struts. . .then dropping the DP behind the sturst. . .
