clutch dont feel right, please help!!!!

Default clutch dont feel right, please help!!!!

ok i just replaced my clutch and flywheel and when i started the car and pressed the clutch in and put it in gear and let the clutch out it starts to grab about 2" off the floor...idk it doesnt seem right to me, should it be like that? any info would be good thanks!!

If its a cable clutch you can adjust the cable to where ever you want it.

Hydraulic, Its staying where it is.

i tryed but i cant adjust it to much more cause theres not to much play on the clutch arm.

but how much play should there be on the arm so my clutch wont be engaged all the time??

pedal should have 1/2 - 1 " of play at top ususally... adjust the cable accordingly..

i know about the pedal play but im talking about the arm on the trans. How much play is there suppose to be?

i tighten the cable all the way with no play in the arm, mine grabs at the top, easier for shifting

guess you could say, tighten the cable till the pedal is where you want it to be

so if i tighten it with no play on the arm it wont were out the clutch or the throw out bearing??

you want a little freeplay in the cable. not half inch to an inch, but atleast an eighth of an inch or so. just enough to not have constant pressure on the clutch.

adjust it like that and break it in, then re-adjust it.

i guess thats what i gotta do. the thing is that the clutch starts to grab right off the floor and i cant adjust it anymore thats the best it can get.

Well if its grabbing right off the floor that means the cable isnt adjusted far enough downward. Try turning the adjuster on the cable with vice grips once its to hard to turn by hand. My car after i bought it from my friend was doing just what yours is, so i tightened the cable up and i've never had an issue with that since. The clutch grabs right in the middle where it should.

yes i am sure its turnd the right way, cause i had it the other way and i couldnt even get it in gear. ill try and show pictures and may be a video or somthing when i have time.
