Default Drag kit not fitting... too big of a turbo??

Alright guys, I started putting on my drag kit today, just go make sure everything fits perfect before my tune the 19th.

Issue is, the turbo hits the block terribly. I used to have a drag kit on this before, and i did shave it and it fit fine.

Now i put this one on and it wont fit. at all- ill get pictures ina bit, but heres my question
Right now im just mocking it up with a ebay turbo i had laying around- its a standard ebay t3to4e turbo

I purchased a borg warner "57 trim t04v .55ar " from a forum sponsor, and was wondering if this will be smaller than the ebay turbo? are the borgs a small frame?, the sponsor said it would fit fine-

and before i get flamed,
1. Yes the block is shaved
2. Yes, the downpipe is on the driver side as drag inteded it to be run
3. Yes, I need help lol

Thanks!

I believe the borg warner 57 trim is with the B compressor housing instead of the E compressor housing. If it is the B comperssor housing it should fit fine since it's a smaller compressor housing than the E.

Does your turbo housing hit the side of the block like where the flywheel housing is? I had this problem with the setup that I am doing. I am using the blox turbo manifold which looks really close to the drag and a sc44 turbo. I had to shave a pretty good bit into the side of the block where the flywheel housing is but even when you shave enough the turbo would still hit the coolant plug right under the head . So to get everyhting where it would fit and the turbo to clear I had to get a 1 inch flange made to go between the head and the turbo manifold. Now everything clears and fits fine and also retaining a/c

I may have to do that, but my only problem would be then id have to get longer bolts, and its going to take too much time, I gotta tune on the 19th at RLZ-

U in monroe? What kidna numbers are you putting down? setup? thanks!

I had the kit too and as far as I know they always hit and need to be shaved but I was running it on a b16a2?I had to cut the webbing off the block and grind it down maybe a 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch?

well from the looks of it, im going to have to grind soo much that its going to affect the block structure- wtf? ive never seen a case where so much shavign had to be done. I cant even run a filter on it now, - very very disapointed in the drag kit IMO

Should have gone with revhard or inline pro

Look at where the engine code is where the 2 at the end of the code is almost gone thats how much metal I had to take away. There is still plenty of metal left and thats not a big structural area. Also you can see the coolant plug behing the turbo without the flange I had made it would hit that. I had to get a 1 inch flange made and I got some 2 1/8 inch stainless bolts from arp. Everything fits great now and we are keeping a/c but you will need to get a slim fan for your radiator and a/c if you are keeping a/c

Is the exhaust housing a 5-bolt or 4-bolt. I believe most b-series cast manifolds are designed to work with the 5-bolt.

you are correct- the 4 bolt never really works right with logs- Im using a ford style 5 bolt turbo

I guess ill wait in the mail for the borg warner and see what happens... otherwise i guess ill have to run it on the otherwise and fab some downpipe up

The only reason the 4-bolt works/clears is because of the aluminum spacer u made.

to answer your question quickly, yes the BW t04b will fit fine in the same direction as your drag kit because the diameter of the compressor cover is a bit smaller allowing for more room. The 55A/R is a 4 bolt / 5 bolt exhaust housing that fits both style flanges.
