Hey hey, i was wondering strictly what the average EK stock hatch gets... Ive done some searching, and im fairly decent with computers and the internet, and Honestly I cant find anything 2 specific on it...So....For all of you with an EK hatch modified or not, What kind of MPG can 1 man expect to get?

 

With a sohc, usually around 33-5mpg or so. I've seen higher ~40 but it's rare.

 

Stop me if I'm wrong here, but that model car came with a wide spectrum of engines. Anything from a B16 to a D16Y5.

You must not have searched very hard. Did you search for "EK MPG". The rest of the world doesn't know what an EK is.

hatches have b16's and y5's???? nice to know... last time i checked all ek hatches had the same d16y7 engine

 

back in high school i consistanly got 35mpg in my all stock 96 hatch and that was driving like a teenager

I believe only EJ6 and EJ9s had D16Y7s. No EK chassis though.

This is what I believe he is trying to get at. And yes, there were true EK chassis with B16A2s (EK4 - SiR/VTi) and D16Y5s (EK1 - ESi).

There were no true JDM Civics with the D16Y5. There was the EJ7 Civic Coupe STD which had a D16A, but that's about the closest that gets.
