what can i use as a spacer for my short shifter install?
i just received my short shifter in the mail and noticed that the base of the shifter isnt wide enough to fit into my shift linkage properly, and the manufacturer doesnt have any spacers made yet for their kit.
what can i use to fill that empty space? washers? what can i use as a spacer that will be sturdy and won't give me problems later on? has anyone had this same problem as me? what'd you guys use? thanks.

i used flat washers and a lock nut, that way you can adjust the tightness of the shifter itself. and use moly lube if you don't have the bushing. unless its an internal bushing, then you should be ok with just washers and a lock nut.

thanks for all the input. i installed the shifter over the weekend and it worked out great. But im thinking i might need to put in another washer because there seems to be a small amount of left and right play when its in neutral and in gear. im thinking if i put in another washer that it'll get better?
