shifter install no lithium grease
Any drastic effects if I did not use white lithium grease in my short shifter install? I plan to take out the collar and grease it up thoroughly, as I am getting a horrible rattle. However, I'm too lazy to take out the whole shifter to grease up the "ball". Is it that important to grease the ball up with lithium grease? what I used initially was this gear lubricant which was not thick at all.
is it important to have the ball of the shifter greased up well with lithium grease?

Re: (aZnjCC)
not to important, and the rattle is either from your shifter hitting a heat shield or from the screw that hold the shifter to your shift links is loose

cool thanks, and yeah...it's definately not a heat shield, it's clear of hitting anything. I narrowed it down to the collar having too much space inside the shifter because the o-rings that were supplied were a tad bit too tiny. I'm gonna go back to using the stock o-rings and grease that ish up
