Default Almost totalled car...opinions

So im in the Marine Corps and im stationed out in hawaii while i was out here i bought an integra cuz i love this car so damn much....i picked it up for 2G a white 96 LS integra....i wanted a GSR but for 2G i couldnt pass it up...it was in perfection condition and had 100k miles....so the story goes i was goin to get somethin to eat from ruby tuesdays and it was rainin season and a monsoon was hittin or wat ever the hell it was....well there was 2 hills both pretty steep and the cleevage of the hills was filled water....little did i know this c/ i could see the **** and i hit it and hydrolocked my motor..i was pissed...well i didnt have the oppertunity to fix it c/ i was gettin deployed and so now i wanna fix it up...i lookin for a set up thats good for time attacks...i wanna boosted motor...somethin that just gets me off and i was debatin puttin a B18C or a H22 aka IMO the boost beast...but i dont know to much about a H22 swap in a tegy....and the only problem is i cant work on my car every weekend...so which should i boost (only looking to boost between 10 - 16lbs) yea yea big difference but based on what yall say is how im gonna make my decisions c/ there are some Honda Gods on honda-tech....and money aint an issue c/ im gonna pull a loan out...and i want reliability...hope i didnt go over board

If you're into time attacks and not drag I'd suggest an all motor set up cause on a circuit you don't need crazy horsepower to be fast, it really depends on the skill of the driver and also all motor is more reliable than boosting on a motor that wasn't meant for boost... Also with an all motor set up the driver can mediate throttle control much better than a turbo set up. With a turbo set up, when boost kicks in you'll be prone to really strong understeer because it's a front wheel drive. Full suspension is a must if you're into circuit racing and your choice of suspesion can greatly affect your performance on the track, I'd get tein coil-overs, I'd check on here from the autocross guys what spring rates you should get, get strut bars, sway bars, tie bars, polyurethane suspension bushings etc... Your suspension is really important for circuit time attacks.. But yeah If money is not a concern, I'd get full race suspension, and for an all motor set up, I'd suggest a 98' type-r swap cause it's a mildely built factory built motor with a bigger throttle body, single port intake manifold, slightly more aggresive cams, valves, springs, and retainers, ported and polished head, higher compression if you get a JDM type-r swap (11.1) stronger pistons, and rods, and a balanced bottom end, stainless steel 4 to 1 header, and has better shorter gears and LSD. I think I stock type-r would be a good choice for reliablity but if a stock type-r is still not enough for you, I'd say get some cams focused on mid range torque cause on a circuit corner exit acceleration is more important than flat out top end power.. Or just so I can rap this up so you don't have to read a freakin novel.. Type-r swap, toda cams, toda cam gears, toda valve train, toda Individual Throttle bodies, bigger injectors, 4.9 final drive, hondata, and tuning.. I'm not sure how much power you'd make but I'm assuming like low to mid 200's to the wheels with tuning which should be plenty for a circuit car.. Although, I've heard ITB's are a bitch to tune.. But if money is not an option you can pay for the tuning... Or you could build a gsr swap the same way too.. ITB's aren't necessary I just think they sound really tight and they're great for throttle response, but for horsepower gains I don't think they give you that much... But if boost is really what you want get a gsr swap, pointless to boost a type-r cause it's high compression.. Basically get a GSR swap, get like a t3/t4 turbo and not a crazy huge turbo cause you'll just wheel spin silly.. Get it fully built, get LSD and boost low like 10lbs get it tuned and you're good to go!
