3.2 type S vs ITR
How many of you guys have raced a 3.2 type s in your ITR?
The reason I ask is because a friend of mine came down from MA. this past weekend and he has a ITR with nothing but a cai and raced my friend down the street with a 3.2 type S(stock)...... They raced from a 40mph roll 3 times and the type S got him every time. On the second run the type S got him by almost 2 cars.
I thought these two cars stock vs stock were almost equal?

ITR should win, but it will be close. Again, maybe it was the driver. ive driven a CL type S and though it was torquey, it just didnt have the up top acceleration to keep up with an R. But like always, sometimes you get a lemon engine, and the other guy has a wednesday one.

With the torque of the 3.2 type S, you better be in the right gear in the Type R or else you will have a hard time keeping up. Both cars have similar 0-60 time and 1/4 mile time but they don't get it the same way

From a rolling start the CL/TL type S will get you all the time because of torque. From a stop it is pretty much dead even, he gets off the line faster, and you catch up when you're in the power band.
I know in a1/4 mile the ITR would win but I was really surprised when I saw the way the type S was pulling away(slowly but pulling)

Type-S=No joke!
I got beat by a Type-S on the Highway going from 60 to about 110 ~ 120.
I would imagine the torque and taller gears help out quite a bit on the highway.

I got a video here from ahwile back of an ITR vs. CL Type S.
I uploaded it to we-todd but then got an error at the end and it's not there
Anyone want to host it for me?
sack-who wonders if he can get his dad to race him in his CL-S

My dad has a CL-S Auto and that car is no joke. Up through most of fourth it is bad ***, once you hit fifth you know its there simply for gas mileage. Now the 6 speed manual with the extremely short gears I can only imagine how fast that is. Well, wait I can 0-60 in 5.8 secs.
Anyone know what in BMWs line the CL Type S is supposed to compete against?
Curious to see what the 0-60 and 1/4 of the comperable BMW would be...

It's sad that everything on the road has more than 200HP these days... doesn't Odessy have 240HP or something?
i have never race 3.2 type S,cuz ppl who i saw with that car don't want to race me.
i guess they are fast cuz it's 3.2 liter, only problem i guess it's the weight and usually when i have close match, i usually pull ahead in end of 2nd gear or 3rd gear... but just gotta be patient even u have a slower launch.

i heard the new CL's six-speed manual tranny does sub 6's form 0-60 and 14.6 1/4 stock. that is freaking impressive, i donno if the itr can hang with the new manual tranny's in a strait line race stock to stock.
