Check out this vid guys. I know the guys from synapse engineering frequent this site as well. I am just finding it a little hard to believe. Are all the factory MS3 BOV's defective?

Just wondering if it would be worth dropping the money on a BOV and intake for this thing......... looking at 40-50hp gains for under 500$.

 

Well that one was obviously leaking boost.... makes sense to me, swap out bov's and see if you can tell a difference also.

the bov's are leaking, this isn't new news, synapse seems to think it is...why not just run no bov? gain even more power!!!

a crushed 1g dsm bov will net you the same results, or any other decent bov on the market

Man, really didn't know this at all.......

Guess I will have to pick something up soon.........

 

their final results were right on par with a mazdaspeed 3 we had on the dyno. aparantly this one didnt have a leaking blow off valve.

id like to know if this is a common issue as well on these cars.

heres the graph of the one we had. sorry for the scaling of the graph, we just had another car on the dyno and i didnt change the range.

haha i didnt say that. i would like to see a pressure plot after though.

 

Wait, so we have a streetfire vid labled 'Synapse Engineering', then someone from 'Synapse Motorsports' posting that the upgraded mazda has the same HP graph as a stock mazda.

yes we had a mazdaspeed 3 come in for some baseline pulls before he makes any modifications. the car put down a little under 250whp. just noting the numbers were similar to synapse engineering's results after they swapped in their bov. its aparant the car we had on the dyno didnt have the leaking blow off valve issue that they had fixed with their blow off valve.

That seems very confusing, and probably unfortunate. . . I've been wondering about the relationship for a while, and I guess I made a bad assumption. . . AGAIN!

 

Thanks for clearing this up guys...... I thought it was a bit misleading......... lol

Can't wait for some solid engine management systems to be released, I think there is tons of potential in this car in stock form with some tuning.
