RR of canister control solenoid/valve for P1457 correction
I have a 1998 accord 4dr I need to correct a p1457 code on. Question is; do I have to drop the tank out the bottom or, like many other sedans, can I access the valve/can through the removal of the back seat...
Thanks

okay, I looked under the trunk liner and I have access to the fuel pump/wiring, but not the canister or solenoid... help?
well the code says "control system canister" and "EVAP emmissions control System". I found on various threads that many people have had the purge valve and/or solenoid go out that is on top of the charcoal canister (fuel vapor). As far as I can tell from the few pictures I can find, it is located in the fuel tank area, but I really do not want to drop the tank if I don't have to. The canister appears to be about 4x3x6 in. in dimension so I would think it would be on the side of the tank somewhere. The vent is at the fuel door, but I do not know if the can is there or under the car. I guess many times in states where they use salt on the roads, like here in Utah, the valves start corroding and that causes them to stick or leak... I have to register this vehicle this week, and just don't have the money to take it to a shop for the repair, as the part is almost $100 by itself...
