decided to go with R compound this year and got a set of Kumho v710 over the winter. i was looking at getting the Chase hitch but didn't like the heim joint because they look kinda weak. so decided to make my own and it was also cheaper.
here are some pics.

what a wonderfully hand crafted improvisation you have there!
i love your ingenuity
you are a motivation to us all
next time i need to tow my yacht, i'll just use this write up
in fact, forget buying that 1 ton dually
towing with the S is a proven success!!

Looks good
. Is the angle the trailer sits at going to be ok or should you get a different hitch that will sit higher? - I see you already have it flipped.

i don't think the trailer being lowered in the front is going to be any problem. i could get a lower receiver if it does become a problem. 2" drop was all they had at the store.

True, but with a well-engineered hitch, it's not a problem. I have a couple thousand miles towing a tire trailer on my S2000 and have no issues. Also have a few thousand miles of towing with a Miata too. Again, there's no issue if you drive conservatively and have a well designed hitch.
rice4life: that's is a very nice piece of work. The best I've ever seen, commercial or DIY.

Looks great! I've been researching hitch solutions for a while now and will probably get the Chase Race, but still not sure. Wish I had the skills you had so I could make my own.
Need to bring my mountain bike to some trails. Plus I have a 30% of ANYTHING coupon for Harbor Freight that I would like to use on one of their expensive trailers. It expires in November 2008.

i'll give you $5 for that coupon if you're not going to use it.
is this a real coupon or one of those fake on float around the internet.

Hah, yeah it's a real one, not an online one. Definitely gonna use it for something, if it's not a trailer.

carlisle to philly is about an hour and half.
i have no complaint with the Megan coilovers. these are street series but i think i might switch up for the track series. i had the track series when i had the evo and they were great. i don't mind the harsh ride at all.

They also do some at maple grove as well on occasion. Its about and hr east of you (off the morgantown exit). Not sure how well they are set up as i havent made any of them, but my friend went to them frequently. I was always in pittsburgh which is a bit too far of a haul for just a race, and never brought my Rcomps home (morgantown/downingtown) to race when i was there.
off topic: but theres some sweet hill climbs out near reading as well
