can someone tell me what the seller is claiming this to be?

It says to install into the IAT sensor, but my SRI doesnt have an air temp sensor. Is the IAT located somewhere else on my car? Also, how is this chip suppose to give your more horses?

I also found this add. Do you think it will meet the performance improvments that it insures?

Don't buy them.
All they are is a box with a resistor in them to trick the ECU into thinking your engine air temp (IAT) is cooler than it really is.
This was in the small print in the middle of the item description.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Ebay Item fine print »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">uses a resistance value of 3,100 ohms to override the sensor and signal the computer that it is receiving air at an optimal temperature of 56 degrees.</TD></TR></TABLE>
What it doesn't tell you is that by reading this false signal the ECU will feed the engine more fuel causing a rich condition "giving you cough....cough 20 more Hp. cough...cough In the end all it will do is cost you for new O2 sensors, cleaning out excess carbon deposits inside the engine, clogged EGR ports and possible catalytic converter failure. Also it will give you less MPG in all driving conditions. You would also start to see the trade mark, untuned engine, black soot coated bumper
FYI.... Your IAT is on the back of your intake manifold plenum.

common sense would tell you if it's true there would be more people doing it and more posts about it here or any other car forum. Just about anything you find like that on eBay or anywhere else that claims increases like that are going to be false. Don't waste your money, stick to proven mods that are worth the money.
