Default Someone Please Answer ASAP

Someone is telling me that a d16y8 with an AEM CAI, Full Catback exhaust and a 4-1 header and also the timing is advanced is pushing 167hp?!? I call .... anyone else disagree?

my friend owns an ap1 and he has no mods except for a final gear... he said this d6y8 in a 2000 civic ex kept up with him until he hit vtec? but does that really justify his arguement of having 167 hp?!?! with the most basic mods and a degree in advanced timing?

Theres no way in hell a y8 is pushing that much power with just bolt ons. Youd be lucky to get that much going NA fully built without spending a ridiculously large amount of money.

Yeah that's an assload of bullshit. Not a chance on a cold day in hell. It would be hard for even a more powerful motor like the B16A to hit those numbers at the wheels w/ the mods you have listed.

Though bench racing isn't allowed in here.

I can say that my STOCK, totally stock EX coupe with D16Y8 beat an S2000 (yes, he was trying to race me - he was a friend) until I hit third. I got quite a bit of distance on him for what the cars are.

I know I'm not running 167hp though.

Pure and simply put...no! Ask for a dyno sheet if it's in question. Why 167 and not 164hp?

BS, not to the wheels.

Most over stock with boltons I've seen is liek 18hp with dynos. Thats like $1000 in bolts on. Intake, Headers, Exhaust, P/S removal. lol. Not worth it.

^not to the crank either

seems as if someone is taking power numbers on those parts ("gain up to 15hp!") quite literally...and wrongly.

With all the mods listed, the cars probably at 120 whp MAX

Nope. I don't do April Fools. I think it's stupid. Especially not a day late.

Stock S2000 versus stock EX. S2000 driver might have not been the best driver. Either way, I was quicker than he was.
