i got a really really killer deal on a fresh built b16
PR4 pistons 8.6:1 in B16, ARP head studs, rebuilt and ported B16 head w/KMS eng. v. springs, and stock cams with a blox mani
im looking to push some good numbers out of it.
anyone have a guess if i could get it in the high 300whp range?
my friend floyd managed to make 400 on a stock b16 bottom end. im sure it was just a freak motor but it went 10.80's
so i figured with any luck i can make somewhere around there.
does anyone have a similar setup?

i have pr4's in a b16, 333whp 260wtq on 91 octane:
b16b head
b16a block with acl bearings, stock rods, PR4 81.5mm pistons
arp head studs
gt3076r
ramhorn mani
cometic .050 head gasket so im actually at 8.3:1
if your using anything bigger than b16a cams you MUST enlarge the valve reliefs on teh LS pistons as LS heads have smaller valves. i found this out the hard way and we ended up replacing 4 bent valves but luckily we were able to grind down the vavle reliefs with the motor still in the car with just the head off.
feel free to ask any other questions, its rare i get to see someone doing the same thing

thanks man!
im going with stock b16 cams so i should be good on that.
333whp is pretty good im sure it still has more in it
im gonna go to evans for my tune im hoping to make anywhere over 350whp. id really like to make up around 400 which he said is do-able but how long it will last is up in the air.
im willing to throw 15lbs at it daily and see how it holds up. hell my beat to hell old ls took 12 and i beat that thing
how many lbs was that on that you made that?

10 psi creeping to 12.
what turbo/manifold/size dp and exhuast/ems are you gonna be using?
if the head is off the block now i strongly recomend you enlarge the valve reliefs, that way later on if you plan to put cams in it you dont have to remove the head...
and your right my motor does have more in it, weve run it as high as 20psi with zero knock, i dont have any numbers on it but it was pretty insane!

Its all in the tune. Cast pistons dont leave much margin for detonation. Couple bangs, and your ringlands are gone. But good luck with the build, keep us posted!
